Gig Log: 12/10/11 Wedding Reception

Last night we did a wedding reception at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Moku’ola Ballroom. Congratulations to Tad and Renee! We did do weddings in here before so we had an idea on generally how the set up would be. But the challenge is always how to make one wedding have its own personalty from the last in the same venue. We did get 4 new uplighting fixtures in last week so that did help. Here’s a panoramic view of the room looking toward the DJ booth.
The wedding colors were purple and green. We spotlighted the cake that was located next to the head table.
This time the podium was located on the opposite end of us. We thought this was a weird move, but it worked out to our advantage by allowing us to spotlight the speakers.
In all everyone had a good time. Gumby did a excellent job DJing. He had crowd dancing till the end and still wanting to dance more when the event was done.
