Today the governor freed up some social gathering limitations.

Today Governor Ige set additional vaccination benchmarks for social gatherings and restaurants since the vaccination rate for the state is at 60%.
Social gatherings on Hawaii Island have been expanded to 25 indoors and up to 75 outdoors. Weddings and other structured events fall under social gatherings according to Hawaii County . There is a possibility that an event could have more attendees than the current social gathering limit. This would require submitting for an exemption at least 30 days before the event date to the county for approval.

If the event is at a restaurant and is out of their normal daily business activities, these social gathering event limitation still apply. An exemption request will still be needed for a larger event gatherings at this restaurant.
Mask wearing for indoor events are still required. For outdoor events, masks are not required but are suggested to be worn in a large group setting.
Each island/county has different restrictions so it's easy to get confused with all the differences in information going around. When the state's vaccination rate reaches 70% then all restrictions terminate and social gatherings are no longer restricted. There may also be social gathering rule changes when the current emergency proclamation ends in August.
